Yang Zhengrong graduated from the preventive medical institute at the Third Military Medical University in 1995. He then became a secretary of academician Chen Tian-Ming, and subsequently a research fellow in the National Key Lab. Of Trauma, Burn and Combined injury. In 2004, he gained his doctoral degree and was accepted to further his postdoctoral research at the Tsinghua University during 2005 to 2007.

Dr. Yang is presently the vice director of Guangdong AIDS prevention key disciplines, and the HIV/AIDS prevention and control Division at Shenzhen CDC, He is also a member of the Shenzhen scientific expert committee, and editorial committee of 2 domestic professional journals.

Dr. Yang is familiar with biomedicine, virology, and molecular biology. In the past years, he has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in the professional journals including PLoS ONE, Journal of virology, etc. He is also an active researcher as a project leader in national 973 program, NSFC, and Chinese post doctorial funding, besides about 10 provincial or city level project he has participated in. In 2009, Dr. Yang was recognized as a local-level talent of High-Level Professional in Shenzhen.
